It deeply troubles me that so many people don’t think about where they’ll go after this life.
It’s a question that weighs heavily on my heart—one that I believe every person should wrestle with. And yet, most of the answers I hear are filled with uncertainty: “I don’t know,” “I’m not sure,” or “I need to do certain things to earn God’s grace.” Some even say, “I have no idea,” with complete indifference. That breaks my heart.
Recently, I met someone and we struck up a conversation. I asked him if he believed in God. His answer was, “No.”
So I asked, “Don’t you think there’s a Creator behind all of this? What about when you see the smile of a baby—or when a tree that seemed dead comes back to life? Doesn’t that make you wonder?”
I pointed to the beauty and wonder all around us. “Don’t you think there’s a Creator?”
There are so many signs of God’s glory all around us. And yet, how foolish we can be to deny it. The Lord Himself said He gave them over to their foolish thinking when they rejected the very source of life.
As it’s written in Romans 1:20 (NIV): “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”
The evidence is everywhere—yet still, many choose not to see.
So now I’m asking you this question: Do you know where you will go after this life?
There are many paths that lead us away from the truth—paths shaped by the world, shaped by the enemy, the prince of this world, who works behind the scenes to make us believe this is all there is.
So I ask again: Do you know where you will be going?
And if your answer is, “I don’t know,” or “I need to work for it,” or “Maybe I just don’t care,”—I challenge you to stop and truly think about it.
There is only one way—the way that leads to eternal life.
It’s the way of Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the One who breathes life into you through His Spirit, so you can have the assurance of eternal life.
The same power that raised Him from the dead—is the power He wants to breathe into you right now, giving you that assurance. That Jesus who is God, the one and only one who bore our sins so we could be right with God is the one who is to give you life! He is the ONLY ONE!
You didn’t come into this world just to go through the motions. You were made in the image of God—to do His will, to walk in His ways, to be part of His mission, to be His child, and to fulfill the purpose He set for you.
So you may be asking: “What do I need to do to have eternal life and know that I have it?”
It begins by turning away from the paths of destruction—the ways of this world that only lead to emptiness. Say “no” to those ways. Turn away.
Next, you must make a decision with all your heart and mind. Choose the way of life. Choose God—the Giver of life.
Invite Him into your heart. Let Him take residence in you through the power of His Spirit. Let Him guide you, speak to you, and lead you forward.
Make a deep commitment to follow Him. Offer all of yourself to Him. After all, He created you. You belong to Him. You are not your own, and you’re not the possession of anyone else. You are God’s.
So offer yourself to Him today. Let Him be your Leader, your King, your Master, your God, and your Father. Let Him have full control over your life.
If you do this—and believe it with every fiber of your being—you can know without a doubt that you are a citizen of Heaven. You have eternal life. Because the Giver of life, by His Spirit, will be living in you.
And to God be all the Glory!
